Full Sew In... Great For Hair Protection Or Not?
A full sew-in is a great way to achieve a particular hairstyle while protecting your natural hair in the process.
A full sew in means that all your natural hair is hidden and the base of your sew-in is fully braided. When installed a, lace closure, lace frontal or just the extensions are sewn on top of your braids. With a full sew-in, you have more options when it comes to hair color and hair extension length. It is a great way to try different looks without a permanent dramatic change to your look.
Although a great method of extension installation, there are some cons. One of those drawbacks is not being able to reach the scalp during your routine cleansing. We all know that it is imperative that you cleanse your hair every 1-2 weeks with your extensions, but some may not know how hard it is to reach the scalp. If this is a problem for you, here is a tip.
Before your shampoo process, saturate your scalp with an astringent (be careful not to saturate the hair). Shampoo and style as usual.
